Old Post

Luke updates:
3-18-09
Weight 17.12 oz.
Height 27.25 inches
Head Circumference 43.5 c.m.

He can sit up alone well. Has begun to rock on all fours...help me! The time is near when he will be able to move. He drools more then any other kid I have ever seen. He gets a change of clothes mid-day do to the fact he is sopping wet. That kid is always smiling or doing his "bitter beer face". Remember that comercial? Blows bubbles all day and has the cutest sigh noise. Does ramble dadada but did say mama first. Ha! He loves to be held and touched. Nicknames include mainly Buddy, followed by Handsome, Bu-Dai, or Meatball.

I'm Back!

Hello my blogger friends! I have missed you! The apartment is almost all done but what is left are minor cosmetic changes. I was able to spend a lot of time at my mom's while the renovation was going on and it was a nice little vacation. Our apartment is so WONDERFUL!!! It actually feels clean after I clean it. It actually is so nice we don't feel the need to GET OUT every chance we get. And I actually feel inspired to decorate it. I purchased a set of curtains/drapes for the living room and a rug. (They installed wood floors all downstairs so a rug was a necessity.) And now that I finally bought it (the rug) my husband, mom, and all others I was able to talk to, will no longer have to hear about it. Camera is M.I.A at the moment. There are a few tubs of stuff I have not yet gone thru, so I will post some pics soon.

We went to Jack's 4th birthday today and had a lot of fun. Although we desperately miss down south it is so nice to be close to family and all the family events that happen.

I was pondering today and thinking back to 2007; man that was a tough year for us...Although now looking back I am able to see the great blessings that came from it, the lessons learned, and the reasons for the way things went. I am grateful to my Heavenly Father and all the many things he has blessed me and my family with. I am so grateful for the church and all the opportunities it gives me to serve. I am so thankful for Christ and His sacrifice. 2008 was great year for us but 2009 is off to a fantastic start and it looks that it may be better then last year!

Off Line for a bit

I probably will not be blogging for a few weeks. Renovation begins today on our townhouse (we found out yesterday afternoon the were starting today). They are beginning today by knocking down a couple of walls. Hopefully it gets done fast...

Car update

The heater was treated under warranty so no money was spent on the new water hose, clogged heater coil, or the water pump. However, money was spent on the 60,000 mile tune-up. $440.00. Which ironically was going to be the payment on the Tahoe we almost bought Tuesday night. Yes we did the dreaded car shopping thing again. (We have been in the process of buying a car for over a year now) I think...if we can't commit to a $500 car payment how are we ever going to stomach a house payment? That $500 will take a bite out of our entertainment budget. The Tahoe was a 2008 but it didn't have my coveted captain chairs in the second row. We talked them down near the price and monthly payment amount, but they just could reach what we wanted. And let's face it I don't see the car market going up anytime soon, so I really think we will get the price we want this year. However, I have come to the conclusion we won't buy another car until the one we have is paid off. It has 16 more payments left and all the interest has been paid so the incentive to pay it off early is gone...except maybe a new car once it is? But then we will have no car payment and not want one. Are we forever going to be the only family in America who through our entire marriage will always own just one car?

Is it Friday YET!

I honestly have felt like everyday was Friday this week. This has been one LOOONG week! I think I had something I had to do/go every night since last Friday and my work day was busy busy busy. I can't wait until 5:00 tomorrow!

So, today we took our little Hyundai in to get serviced (the heater doesn't blow hot air unless you are going over 40 m.p.h.) and they said that because we put in a new stereo that the heater may not be under warranty. Does that make any sense to you?! We install a new stereo and magically our 100,000 mile warranty is gone?! I didn't take in the car so when Jord was telling me this I was feeling sorry for the service department; if they try to charge us for fixing the heater, they are going to get my weeks load of stress unleashed on them. I'll let you know what happens...

Highlight of the 4th

I saved A TON OF MONEY on groceries at Safeway today...It was over hundred dollars worth and when it was all said and scanned the total was $45.67. Everything I bought had a coupon except milk and a bag of frozen food. I am so proud of myself.

Jordan's Birthday

We started Jordan's day with a birthday candle in his breakfast

Repeated it at lunch

I guess all the singing and birthday fun tired Lei out; who fell asleep on the stairs
(Jordan got sung to with a candle and a gift with each meal. He also woke up to a birthday decorated downstairs)

Dinner

I made the ice-cream cake and it turned out soo good!
MAX YOU WERE VERY MUCH MISSED!

Weekend of the 2nd Birthday Parties

So Friday we went up to Chico for sweet Kaiden's 2nd Birthday! Saturday we were able to go out on a date to celebrate Jordan's upcoming birthday. Yummy Olive Garden! Today we went to Lincoln to celebrate Finley's 2nd Birthday. I wish I had taken more pics! Lei just loves her cousins and I wish we lived closer so they could play more often together.

I thought this was a really good pic of Lei with my dad

This is what happens when you are 2 and your Nana gives you lip gloss; Lei said it was a mustache

I tried and tried to get him to smile, and after 12 shots with the same look I gave up

"Quiet Time" lasts all day yesterday

Yesterday I told Kaleia to go up for her daily "quiet time". (Daily from 1-2 pm) I told her she could come down when she finished cleaning her room even if it was before the clock said two zero zero. She watches the clock for this magic number that says her quiet time is over. She informed she was not going to clean her room she was going to play. I said that was fine but she couldn't come down until she was done cleaning. Girl refused to clean all day and just played in her room. It felt like I just had 1 kid again. Finally at 6 she came down and told me she made her room a big mess and needed help. When I went up there it really was a big mess and we cleaned it up together. Today I did the same thing thinking she would be up there for awhile, however, she went up there and came down in 10 minutes annoucing her room was clean and she could come out...and it really was clean. I had 2 kids again today.
