after christmas

Hope everyone had a fun christmas. We did. One of the highlights was that Jordan and his folks were able to talk to Max on Christmas day from Madagascar. He sounded good but we miss him being here for the holiday fun. We spent Christmas at my Mom's this year and with their new addition/family room we didn't feel cramped. With all five kids home, 2 of them married, and me with 2 kids I was worried, but the room made a huge differance. Who knew 350 square feet was all that house needed? The best part for my mom was that she was able to sit all 20 of us down at the same table for dinner for her traditional 7 course german meal. It was as always delicious. Stephanie made the traditional german cookies for dessert and they were extra tasty, her secret was more vanilla then the recipe called for, I don't want to think of how many of those I ate. Lei had fun too. She finally understood the concept of Santa and would yell with each present, "I am so excited I can't wait!" as she opened them. Her letter to Santa had a lot of Jaime (Steph's husband) basicly a commentary of what he was doing as we wrote the letter. The "elf on the shelf" was named Red by Lei and he went home to Santa each night to report if Kaleia and Luke were being good. He showed up each morning in a new place and Kaleia loved looking for him every day. Her favorite part was the advent calander I must say though because of the candy. Jord and I were afraid we didn't get enough presents for Kaleia and Luke but all of our relatives took care of that. We came home with 2 HUGE bags of toys...not sure where they are going to go. I am looking for a shelving unit for the bedroom. And of course we did our Christmas Story movie night. I have to get a leg lamp for Jord next year and a bunny pajama for him. I think I have watched the Grinch stole Christmas to last me a long time this was Kaleia's favorite Christmas activity...and the chipmunks holiday music c.d. GAG.

We went over to Grandma Moos' to make taffy, I observed...years ago on vacation to Bedego Bay we all made taffy and she yelled at us for dropping it on the rug so I refused to participate in fear it would happen again. LOL. She didn't really yell just raised her voice, something she had never done before or since so it was tramatic for an 8 year old. Lei helped though and so did Lindsay and Miles. I looked at old christmas photo albums of years past. I must say I had some akward years espeacialy '92-'96. She loves going to Grandma and Pop Moos' house because of the backyard she ran outside for a long time with Linds and Miles. Yay cuz she was pooped out that night and fell asleep fast.

so eXCITED!!

Okay, I was told yesterday they are going to remodel our townhouse!! For sure the kitchen and bathrooms and there was talk of knocking down the wall that seperates the kitchen and livingroom. I am crossing my fingers for new windows. I am so excited I can't even tell you. They are coming Monday with the contractor and walking thru and deciding what all they are going to do. I will let you all know.

2 Comics

1. I told Lei to clean her room. She says it is clean. I say are all the books in the shelf? She says no they are on the carpet and she can't pick them up. I say she can cuz she is a big girl. She says, "I am a big girl but not a cleaner."

2. I ask her who she wants to give her a bath. She says both of us and goes upstairs. Jord and I are deciding who gets to do it while she turns on the water and yells okay ready guys!

rANdOM

So yesterday Lei was very draining. She is very rough with Luke. I caught her yesterday putting the Mr. Potato Head pieces IN him. The yellow hat was on his head, the blue glass' on his eyes, and when I wound the corner she was attempting an ear IN his ear! Then later she had a comb, nail file, and nail clippers and was using those items on him. I explained that she needed a doll not a Luke to do those things to. She ran upstairs and grabbed a few dolls but they didn't hold her interest for very long.

So I woke up at 6:30 a.m. this morning so I could go running in preparation for my 1/2 marathon. And this morning I am thinking why am I doing this to myself? This is not fun, my bed is a fun place to be right now. Jord then tells me that running is fun for me I said so this time last year. My reply? Yes it is fun after 2 months of training and 20 lbs. off my body. Oh well. It will become fun again soon enough. I still am in awe I am getting up early and going. I can't wait for the marathon to be over. I am visualizing myself crossing the finish line with the ocean to my right...And then going out to dinner at Duke's that night!

Tid Bit

Today while I was packing the diaper bag I asked Lei to go and get Luke to stop crying by playing with his feet and talking to him. She goes in the living room and he instantly stops. I run in thinking she has done something bad and she has grabbed a bottle that he had just finished and was feeding him. She is no dummy. When I started to laugh and tell her thankyou she informed me, "I big sister, I help."

Jelly Belly Factory

Today we went to the Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfeild. We had a lot of fun (would have been more fun minus a 2 hour wait in line), and both kids did really well. I went with my friend Michelle to check it out. It has been years since I have been and she had never gone. It gave us something new to go and see, got us out of the house, Lei loved the green beans the best, and Luke slept the whole time we were there, YEah! Then did a Costco run and Target run and still my kids were good. INCREDIBLE!

Fun w/ Cookies & Cousins

We went over to Kellie and Bill's to decorate cookies and let our kids play together. Kellie was behind the camera so sadly there are none of her. :( We are planning to get together again so next time I will be the one taking pics. The kids had fun and loved eating the cookies. Lei ate the frosting with bites and Kaiden loved the sprinkles. Grandma Moos and Pop Moos came over too!

Luke Stats

Height: 23.5 Inches
Head Circumference: 39 c.m.
Weight: 11 lb. 5 oz.
Age: 2 Months

Luke is holding his head up really well, little bobs still though. Not much cooing sounds but watch out for his cry, it is so loud and angry. He can follow objects with his eyes and turn to sound. He totally recognizes my voice if I talk to him from across the room. The song I Am A Child Of God calms him down when he is upset, it calms me down too when I sing it. He is sleeping well at night, 3 four hour stretches beginning around 10 p.m.

Lei has begun a nasty habit of wanting to come in our bed around 4 a.m. The third bedroom in our apt. is being redone so Luke is in our room right now and I think that is why she wants to be in the room too. I can't wait to be able to move him back to his room. Lei has started to go potty in the toilet, except #2 she says it scares her. She is in pull-ups and has no accidents except for when she naps or if she is sent to her room for a time out. I think she pees on purpose in time out to get back at me. LOL. Last week she announced she didn't want to wear diapers but wanted to wear her Dora panties. (Dora pull-ups) Since then she has made HUGE progress in the potty training department. I am so happy. The cost of her diapers will shortly be replaced with the need to buy formula. I can't make enough milk for Luke so I need to supplement with formula. I have to say I am tired of breast feeding and now just pump or feed him when I feel full. It was too hard to stop what I was doing every 2 hours to pump for an oz. of milk.

Peter Pan's Neverland

We went to FairyTale Land's annual Halloween event; and this year's theme was Peter Pan. We went with my Dad and Nancy and had a lot of fun! Kaleia and Luke were Dalmation pups and I didn't wear my Cruella D'evil costume; I am saving it for next week. Luke slept the whole time and Lei had a ton of fun trick or treating and playing on the train. She wasn't afraid of Captain Hook, got to make a pipe or flute as she called it and just run around a play.

Excited!

Okay I am getting excited for Halloween it is my favorite holiday. Here is a pic. from last year. Can't believe I wasn't even pregnant this time last year and now we have another child this Halloween.

I did IT!

Okay I actaully did it. I paid the registration fee and booked the hotel room for the February 1st, 2009 marathon in Huntington Beach, CA. And on my name bib I am having them put:
Stacy @ 125.

Yes, I have put it out to the universe my dream/goal weight to be is 125 at the time of the race. That would put me just a few pounds below where I was before I got pregnant this last time. Wish me luck. Hitting the gym 5X a week and doing weight watchers hard core.

I really like the gym cuz they have a day care that Lei loves to go to and play. In fact she throws a fit when it is time to leave and it is quite embarrasing.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

Well it has been 5 years now! WhooHoo! I feel like it has gone by fast but also that it has been a lifetime. So much has changed; for me personally and us as a couple. We also have 2 great kids now too. We are officially grown-ups I believe. Went to a good steak house for dinner (Carvers), good but not our favorite. Sadly 5th Street Steak house in Chico, was too long of a drive. Then we went to the mall to get Jord. some much needed jeans (I know not much of a date but you just can't go far with a 6 week old :)and while in the dressing room in gap Jord vanishes. Now for those who read my blog ages ago remember the cost plus story (Jord. fell asleep on a couch in the corner of the store and i couldn't find him for a 1/2 hour!) I am thinking okay...no couch now where do I look? So I wander out and find him in Zales buying me the wedding band to this ring set I have been lusting over for the past year and a 1/2. I was totally shocked/surprised and I believe he was very proud of himself surprising me. I love my ring!!! Jordan is such a wonderful man. He is patient (with me as a wife this is a major plus, I am always changing my mind) soo humble he has no idea how great he is, a wonderful father, he is hysterically funny, loyal, devoted, I guess I could go on and on. We sat in bed last night and thought of our top favorite moments over the years and here are a few of the highlights (kid moments excluded):
1. Peir 39 is easily our #1
2. shopping with gift cards after we were married. we were soo poor we only bought one thing a day to spread out the fun.
3. Job hunting after we moved: I drove him to dentist offices while he jumped out to drop off resumes and he turned before getting out of the car and said "how do I look?" I told him great and let him get out of the car before calling him back to let him know he had ink all over his face. he had been chewing on a pen, i laughed so hard.
4. having disneyland passes and going like every weekend. we would always ride pirates of the caribean and have great talks on this ride.
5. Walking along the beach every Sunday when we lived down south. We really miss it down there and would love to move back if our family didn't live in the north half.

Baby Bjorn

This is a shout out to the baby bjorn. I pulled it out of a box a couple of days ago and now have worn it every afternoon and into Costco and Luke loves it. I don't know what to do with myself cuz I have so much more spare time since he is happy in my little pouch. And not having the carseat in the shopping cart at costco was so nice. Lei likes it to cuz my hands are free to play my little ponies with her and pooh bear. We got her a new pooh cuz the old was so dirty/gross. They don't make the one she had though and is not taken with the new one very much. It has become my new toy now to play with her with the old pooh.

Funny:
Today we went to the Dr.'s to get Kaleia's flu shot/nasal spray (you know they just squirt the shot up your nose now?!) anyway, we are walking thru the parking lot and it is a windy day and she grabs her pony tail and says, "oh know! Mom, run the windy is messing my hair!" I don't know where she got that from. I purposly don't have bangs or wear hairspray to avoid that feeling!

New Nickname

Lei has started calling Luke Wookie Wookie. So Jord and I were laughing at the idea of being at some sports game years down the road and cheering in a deep voice Woookie Woookie!

Luke's Blessing

Luke had his baby blessing this past Sunday! We followed up with a luncheon afterwards. I am so thankful for everyone who came and shared Luke's day with us. Luke was blessed in the same outfit that Jordan and Max were blessed in. It was a little big on him but it was really neat that nearly 30 years later the same outfit was used again. Thanks to Becky for letting my use it and for cleaning and repairing the elastic in it!

Luke's Shower

Luke's baby shower was this last Saturday and it was a lot of fun! Thank you to Aunt Linda and Grandma Moos for putting it on for us, it turned out great. It was nice to see everyone and show Luke off in one spot. It is so hard/great to have such a big extended family and close friends. Seeing everyone is difficult and it is was nice everyone was able to come and see Me and Luke.

Baby Fat

Okay,
having the hardest time staying focused and eating well. As soon as the kids go to bed and I sit to watch t.v. I grab food to munch on. I have a plan for tonight though; I am going to sit on the couch with my skinny jeans on...or should I say half on, they don't go past mid-thigh at the moment. This is not to depress me but simply remind me how much I'd rather put on the jeans then eat the damn kudos bar or ice cream, or whatever else I fancy to eat. Laura T. and Sondra D. you are my motivaters at the moment!

YAY made birth weight

Yay Luke made birth weight and beyond today! Weighing in at 7 lbs. and 12 oz. My LITTLE man is almost 8 lbs. and is 4 weeks and 1 day old.

Love it!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new stroller. I have been eyeing it since I got pregnant. It is always in the display window at this cute baby boutique down town. Mine is not green though, it is blue and gray with a little blue camo. It is so smooth, easy to steer, easy to jog with, and the kids seem to like it too. The first time we tried it out Lei kept asking for where Luke was. When I told her he was under her she got very frustrated that she could hear him but not see him.

For the first time I felt like an adult...I am walking thru Costco with two kids and all of a sudden I feel old...not OLD just not young. Like I feel old enough to actually have kids and be married.

Well, the time has officially come...we need another car. We held out as long as possible but it is time.

Having two kids is a lot more work then one.

I had to give Luke some formula today for the first time. I have been pumping for a week and I only get 1 oz. of milk per 2 hours. Poor boy is just not growing and has been extra hungry today so I caved in and gave him a bottle when I knew I had no more to give him. Will still pump though and just have to supplement.

It has been really hard to try to break all my pregnancy eating habits...especially late night eating. It will always be a never ending battle. Started weight watchers again and began running again this week. February 1st is the marathon in Huntington Beach.

I colored my hair a really dark red and no one cares for it. I have to say I like it though. It is a nice change. Will have to post a pic sometime.

"BAd MotHEr"

OKAY SO THIS MORNING I DECIDED TO BE A "BAD MOM" AND JUST PUT ON THE TV FOR LEI TO NICK JR. AND JUST LET HER WATCH IT IN MY BED WHILE LUKE SLEPT AND I CAME DOWNSTAIRS AND CAUGHT UP ON STUFF I HAVE BEEN PUTTING OFF. I WAS THINKING HOW RELAXING THE MORNING HAS BEEN...LUKE HAS SLEPT FOR THE THE LAST 3.5 HOURS AND SADLY LEI HAS BEEN WATCHING TV FOR THE LAST 2. I THINK THIS WEEK I WILL CONTINUE TO BE A "BAD MOM" AND LET MY TV RULES SLIDE UNTIL NEXT WEEK...:)
