Caandy Caanes

So we went out looking at lights the other night, and Kaleia had me laughing so hard tears were coming down. She calls Christmas lights Pretty Pretty Lights and we thought she would enjoy looking at a lot of lit up houses. So we are driving and she starts calling/yelling (as if she were looking for them) "CAAAAAndy CAAAAne!" We find a house with candy canes and show her and think we are good now. About 20 seconds later she starts yelling out again "CAAAAAndy CAAAAAnes", and continues until we find another house that has candy canes. And this went on for the whole night. We came to one house where the lawn was covered in light up candy canes and she goes, "WoW, Lots of candy canes." But as soon as we leave she starts calling for more. She would stop to point out blow-up Santas, SaSAs (snowmen), and any other thing she recognized but as soon as it was out of sight she was determined to find those dang canes! I find her quietly stealing them of the tree too. And I can follow the sound of "CRUNCH" to her and her hoard of canes. She tells me, "BRrr, Canes cold" as she wraps them in a blanket, as if it were cruel to leave the cold canes on the tree. So Kaleia had a thing for candy canes this season.

She surprisingly understood that if you unwrapped gifts fun things were underneath. But all was tossed aside after she found her baby stroller. She pushed that thing around the house all day with her baby in it. I think we could have just gotten her that and she would have been just as satisfied.

FAKEMAS

Last weekend we had Fake Christmas with my Mom and family and with my Dad and family. We had a lot of fun, but sadly I took no pictures!! I can always be found with a camera and just forgot to take any! She got this bug rocking horse from my Dad and Fam. and she was really upset I would not let her take it to church with us last week. My Mom got here this Noah's Ark thing where each animal makes a sound and that seems to be a favorite too. Those animals go every where with is. They are her "AMiMals". Kaleia can now identify the letters: B E I J K L M O P S V, she can also recognize the words: MOM, DVD, MAX, KALEIA. Working on the word dad, and letters A and C. Let's just say I have a lot of time on my hands. We are currently actively looking for an apartment, and getting ready for Christmas.

Birthday Bliss

Okay I am still reaping the rewards of the wonderful b-day I had last week. My massage really loosened up my muscles and my runs have been feeling really good. Kaleia loves her jogging stroller and I think we are getting our money's worth! Of course she must bring either her baby or Elmo, I only let her choose one, and about half way thru my run she wants to listen to my ipod. I seriously need to just go and get her a cheap little MP3 player.

Santa

This year sadly Lei did not want to sit on Santa's lap alone. She was fine if I held her but refused to sit by herself, and her repeated "no no no" was not to be ignored. Lei is now completely off the bottle for over a month now; after a few days she stopped asking for it. I told her that her bottle went bye bye and that seemed to satisfy her. She was waking up with nightmares last week, she said it was a scary bear, but those have subsided. Almost done x-mas shopping! Although I have to say it just doesn't seem Christmasy this year.

What I Want For Christmas

Almost everyday Kaleia sits and listens to Jordan's IPoD. She has her own playlist he set up for her and she will sit and listen until you take it from her. Besides her kid's music she LOVES Gwen Stefani's song SWEET ESCAPE, this song by Jet, and I don't remember the third...I think we need to get her a cheap little MP3 player to listen to.

Spaghetti Anyone?

So the other night I was making Salmon for Jord and me, knowing Lei wouldn't eat the fish I made her spaghetti to eat while I fixed dinner...Well as you can see she really liked the spaghetti and surprisingly there were no noodles or mushrooms to found on the floor, she made sure they all went in her mouth!

Homemade Cards

So, I thought this year I would be cute and crafty and make homemade Christmas Cards...And now I am not sure it was worth it. At this point I have to go thru with it, but it was more expensive to make them and I don't think they are cuter. Sad. oh well.

Ornaments

So we put up our tree today. Along with most of America I think. Every year we each pick a new ornament. I got Kaleia a popcorn ball I saw at a craft store cuz she loves to sing "Popcorn popping on the Apricot Tree". But when we went to Hallmark to get mine and Jord's she couldn't stop asking for this Pooh ornament, so I caved. After all it is she who is supposed to pick it out. Jord got carried away and bought all three Christmas Story ornaments they were selling. I felt like is was last year when he did the same thing. I held off getting mine, cuz I usually get it as a gift, and if I don't this year there is always ebay if they are sold out. For the last 17 years I have gotten a dog ornament from the "puppy love" series. I am actually kind of tired of them but I have every one in the series and can't make myself not get one. Just hoping they retire the series soon. It is almost comical now I have so many. Jord says I need my own tree! Well the adaptor to download pics is buried somewhere so none today.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. Ours went well, even though it was FREEZING in Utah!!! The wedding went great Stephanie looked gorgeous and the drive home was better then I thought it would be. Kaleia did fine. Back to back Jungle Book was all she wanted to watch. I brought a ton a dvds and all she wanted to watch was that one. So I now know the movie verbatum. We had to keep stopping at every town though for bathroom breaks...and it was not Kaleia who needed them...in fact it was due to one person...and you know who you are! Hehehe

Toot Toot in the POTTY!!!!

YES THAT IS RIGHT LEI ASKED TO GO TOOT TOOT IN THE POTTY. FROM START TO FINISH IT ALL WENT IN THE TOLIET. YEAH LEI!

Baby Check-up

So, Kaleia and I made our way to her new Dr.'s office here in Roseville. It was time for her 18 month checkup and for five shots, yes five. I honestly had second thoughts as I entered the office, it was kinda dirty/run-down, but was pleasantly surprised by how great her new Dr. is! I think I have been spoiled by Southern CA. offices that all have ocean views and are on the 10 floor. AAAh...back in reality in Nor Cal. So Lei is in the 90% for weight and off the charts in height. Jord and I will savor that statistic cuz with our genes we know she will not stay at the top of any height chart. Hehehe

Toot Toot = Poop

Okay, so Lei went poop in the potty for the first time this week! But now she runs and hides every time she has to go. She calls pooping Toot Toot. Yesterday she told me she had to go and I asked her if she wanted to go in the potty and she said no, then ran and hid in Spencer's room to do her business in private. (we are visiting my mom this weekend) When she was done she walked up to me and said toot toot. But! at least we are making a move towards the direction of potty training. We need to go and buy her her own potty this week I think.

Another milestone for her is she went to the nursery at church today for the first time. We walked in and they were doing puzzles and she sad down and started doing one, and that was all she needed to be fine alone. I thought at least she would cry for a minute and then be fine...but no. When Jord went to get her out at the end of church the lady said she was fine, didn't cry, and would be happy to have her every week. And if I may say it was soo nice not to have her in Sunday school class. I actually was able to pay attention and church went by faster without having to pace the halls with Lei.

Jord starts his new job tomorrow and will blog later to update you all. Of course I think I blog more for our own records. I started printing them out at putting them in a binder, sort of like a journal.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Well here we all are! All dressed and ready for a fun night...That lasted 3 houses!



Our night ended sooner then we thought because Lei kept stopping to dig out her candy to try and eat it. She would just drop to the ground and throw off her ears and bite into the wrapped cany!

The Little Golfer

It seems that we will be buying Lei a set of golf clubs for Christmas. Lately she has been very interested in the game, playing inside and outside with Jord.



Jord and her were outside playing for about an hour and towards the end of it I went inside to make dinner. It was getting dark so they soon joined me, however Lei was very upset, she was not done golfing. I asked her if she wanted to help me make dinner instead and she was at my side...Making/eating the salad. She loves tomatoes and eats them like apples, and as I was grating the cheese she was eating the pieces that fell to the side of the plate.

Avid runner or idiot?

Ok, so for those of you who don't know I have been pre-training for a 1/2 marathon in February. So I am going for my morning run and I did think I would beat the rain like I did yesterday. But I don't. It begins to sprinkle and it honestly felt good, I was 1/2 done with my run and hot. So I hit my mark and turn around to start home and the rain begins to come done a little heavier, and I am thinking oh jeez I have become one of those devoted runners who you drive by and think wow there is a devoted runner. Then it begins to POUR!!!! And I am now thinking I am one of those idiot runners you drive by and think I would really like to drive in the gutter and splash them with water. Hahaha. At this point I am still 3 miles away from the house and have no choice but to continue running. I am so soaked, I am afraid to change the lame song that popped up on my ipod for fear I will ruin it in the rain, and can't help but think my new shoes will no longer look new once this is over. But alas it stops pouring and begins sprinkling, I pass 2 other runners, and sigh with relief that there are others running in the rain and I only have one block to go...And then this thought enters my mind...I am no idiot I am worse! I have become an avid runner!

4 YEARS!

Well, yesterday was our 4th anniversary! We had a nice day, even with work and dentist appointments. I got two fillings right next to one another, one on top and one on bottom so half my face was numb all morning. I should have taken a picture cuz when I smiled it was laugh out loud funny. We went to dinner at Olive Garden and for the first time in a LOOONG time I ordered exactly what I wanted. A virgin pina colada, bread sticks, salad, chicken stuffed marsala with garlic mashed potatoes (dripping with butter, I can't remember the last time I had real butter that didn't come out of a spray bottle), and sadly we had no room for dessert. I am sorry I am getting hungry thinking of the meal again. :) Anyways, that was our day. We are thinking of having a post anniversary day and spending it in
San Fransico in a couple of weeks. When we go I will post some pics for sure.

P.S. Sorry ladies but I have the best husband!

We had to take a rest after the maze. My neck was killing me, because Lei rode on my shoulders most of the maze. It was an uneven path and hard for her to walk on.

Shoe Fetish

Everyday Kaleia brings me shoes for her to put on. Usually shoes that don't match; yesterday she wore a white sandal with a white sneaker on the other foot. But, this morning I was going thru a box of clothes that were once too big for her, and pulling out stuff that now fits her, and she was helping me, when she found these red sparkle shoes in the mix. She wears a size 5 shoe and these are a size 9, but she has not taken them off all day.
