Baby update

Went to the Dr. today. Nothing to exciting. I am 34 weeks along now, have gained 33 pounds, and have had thankfully a pretty uneventful boring pregnancy. Lei loves to go to the baby Dr. they always let her hold the heart monitor thing and she puts in on my belly to hear the heart rate. Plus every room has a drawer of toys that she plays with. Anyway, there is my boring update.

Yesterday's "Meet the Parents" moment

Okay, I really don't like the movie Meet the Parents, the one with I think it's with Ben Stiller. Anyway, I don't like it because things just keep happening and your like yeah right never in real life. Well yesterday morning I am getting ready in the bathroom and Lei comes in and tells me, "there you go mom, I shut the door." I am thinking okay and I tell her thank you for shutting my bedroom door. So I finish in the bathroom and head for the bedroom to get dressed. (I am just in a towel) And my door is locked. I feel like a deer in headlights at this point. Lei has done this before and Jord got the door unlocked with a credit card. So I grab a card and try to wiggle it free...and can't. At this point I am starting to panic. It is 11:15 am and I am supposed to meet the maintenance guy at 11:30 to go over some stuff with him, and am only in a towel. So I think I will call Jord and he can help me over the phone...the phone?...it is in the bedroom too. So I am locked out, naked, had just cleaned so there were no clothes outside of the bedroom, the phone is in the bedroom, someone is coming over in a few minutes, and I have no idea what to do. Ahh...but then I realize Jord's tools are in the spare bedroom and I take a screwdriver and get in the bedroom door open after a few minutes. I felt like I was in a really lame comedy movie.

4th OF JULY

We went to Valley Glen Drive for it's annual block party this year. We had a really fun time. Started the day off swimming, then Grandma helped Lei decorate the wagon for the bike parade. We then set everything up (tables and chairs) to enjoy a fun night with all the neighbors. Everyone brings their own meat to BBQ, a side dish to share, and there is a desert contest. Congrats to Noah and his homemade cheesecake! After dark the fireworks show begins and the men all take turns lighting their fireworks for a fun time.

BIG day of firsts!

So, Lei had a big day full of firsts. We went to the movies and saw Kung Fu Panda. She did really well, she sat thru the entire movie with very few words. The only thing was she wanted to sit in my lap and the child never holds still! She swayed back and forth on my knee for most of the film. Then her "big girl bed" came in the mail yesterday and she slept on that last night for the first time. I thought for sure I would have to go upstairs a million times and tell her to lay back down...but I didn't have to once! I am sure in the future I will have to but it was nice for last night. Jord kept checking on her and kept moving her to the middle of her little bed, cuz arms and legs were ending up hanging off. The bed is like 5 inches of the floor so I wasn't too worried even if she rolled off.

our fixer-upper house

This doll house was on the side of the street for free. So we pulled over and picked it up. It is in pretty good condition just needs some cosmetic fixes. Lei loves it though. I brought all these little people to her to put in it and was informed that it was a ducky house and the people had to go. However, as you can see a few other animals made the cut and were allowed in the house. I'll post a pic of the "after" when I go get some fun stuff for it. The carpet and wallpaper have to go...I am thinking hardwood floors with some rugs...LOL

Just some cute pics

I DON'T WANT TO SPEND THE REST OF MY LIFE FAKE SMILING IF/WHEN PEOPLE SAY OH LIKE STAR WARS. DOES ANYONE ELSE THINK STAR WARS? PLEASE NOTE WE ARE HAVING ONE MORE KID SO IT WON'T JUST BE THE TWO; THERE WILL BE ONE MORE KID.

What she does alone

When I went up to check on Lei who was playing in her room she was playing dress-up with some sparkle shoes and daddy's hat.

Laugh out Loud

Okay...I will try to do this story justice; it may be one of those "you had to be there".

So we went up to Chico for Spencer's graduation and Lindsay's birthday. It is really late one night and me and my aunt Laura are in the kitchen on the computer watching some very old home videos that were recently transferred to DVD. All of a sudden a little sound rings and an invitation to video talk comes up from uncle Chris. (her husband who was in the piano room...or so we thought...) So we are like what the...and we accept it thinking he is trying to be funny. Then we see a picture of his forehead and we ask what are you doing? Then he says, "I need toilet paper." then the screen goes blank.

Wed. Nights

So the last few Wednesdays we have ventured downtown to the farmer's market. It is a lot of fun. We cruise the fruit/vege stands, get some kettle corn, listen to the music, play on the playground, and Lei's favorite...ride the bike powered carousal...twice! She usually picks to ride the frog although this last time she ventured out and rode the cow the second time.
