Our Family of 5!

I wanted to take a few minutes in the quiet of the hospital to write a bit on my new son Shane David Norris. Little boy Norris was nameless for most of his first day of life. What a hard time we had this go around picking a name. Even though we didn't know it was a boy we both thought that was what we were having, and that still didn't help us get to a name faster. Last night I told Jordan he couldn't go home to sleep until we had picked a name! I have to say though when Shane came out yesterday morning one of the first things I said after being told he was a boy, and holding him seconds after, was that he looked like a Shane to me. I wasn't surprised when the Dr. said it was a boy, and I have to say it wasn't more surprising/exciting then finding out at the 20 week ultra sound. Although it is fun how excited others are for you to not know. Shane's birth was the hardest (I deny Jordan's claim I say that with each one). I was induced Monday night and he came Tuesday morning at 7:30. It was a roller coaster of a night. Problems getting my IV in, problems with the epidural, and problems with his heart rate for his final 4 hours in the womb. That was a first and the scariest thing I have been thru. Almost a C-section at 3:30 AM. Epidural didn't take and I was pushing early before 10 c.m. because of his heart rate. But thru it the little guy ended up scoring a 9 on his apgar test.
He is our first and only one to come out with HAIR and the first to have dark hair! Pictures will follow-hospital internet is not the fasted to upload with!
As I look in the mirror I am covered in freckles from my forhead to my midback. They have faded some though since the birth. Funny. I am feeling so much better this Wed. morning. I was able to get a couple hours straight of sleep, and Shane is a very content baby so far. A little different then his first 2 hours of life spent crying. It was a sound of pleasure to me though considering the scare he gave us during the birth. He has a funny cry, hardly opens his mouth and make a MaMA sound when he really gets going. Shane has very long feet, a freckle under is eye, and a Jordan mark on his ear. The Jordan mark is this little tiny indent in the same exact spot Jordan has his.
When Kaleia heard it was a boy she said, "I wanted a sister," and then jumped back into the pool. Luke was a bit timid when he came for the first visit, but warmed up to him by giving him a kiss and telling him, "look baby, this is who who." Luke wouldn't be himself without his other half who who.
Shane is waking, so I will post more later...

Luke's first hair cut...

Easter Fun

Easter was very relaxing for me this year, because I didn't have to do anything! I just showed up. Thank you to those who cooked and cleaned. Best part of Easter? Luke's egg hunting tactic. He would find a plastic egg, crack it open, dump the candy in his basket and throw the egg down on the ground.

Las Vegas

We went on a fun trip to Las Vegas in the month of April. We stayed in a wonderful condo and had such a nice time just being away.

One of the best parts of our trip was when we went and saw the Lion King.

Of course we had to take a detour to Orange County before we headed back home...

Don't forget

Dear Self,

Don't forget that Luke calls squirrels "Peesh", and will argue with you if you try to correct him about it.

Anytime I sit down Luke will sit down next to me and hold my arm.

Luke's terror of the swings unless he sits in my lap.

Luke's need to make sure Kaleia has everything he has. 1 example: I offered him a juice and as he took it he asked if he could get one for Lei too, she was nowhere in sight.

Kaleia will soon be missing her 2 front teeth and will get her first visit from the tooth fairy.

Kaleia is soo kind and patient with Luke. There was a time they always got along...

I need to video Kaleia laughing-it is so cute.
